My family has been in the plumbing industry since 1927 when my grand-father Tom Fitzpatrick came from Ireland. His son Herb Fitzpatrick stayed in the plumbing business and worked his whole life as a journeyman plumber. Myself and my brother Herb Jr. have continued in the field of plumbing. We both have been working as journeyman plumbers for the last 25 years. I have recently broke away from working for someone and started my own business "Fitzpatrick Plumbing".
How to find a reliable plumber
The skills of a plumber will be required at some point in the life of a home owner. Though many of us take plumbing for granted, when gone awry, the resulting damage can wreak havoc. Ignoring repairs of the tiniest plumbing problem can prove to be very costly due to extensive damage that can and will occur.
Many plumbing issues are quick fixes with just a little know-how. There are a few common repairs that can be accomplished with ease, but it's important to know when a professional plumber is needed. All plumbing tasks are not necessarily difficult, but the homeowner may incur far more trouble and cost than if he'd just called in the experienced plumber to begin with.
The outcome of your experience with a plumber can prove to be positive or disastrous, so exercise caution when selecting a plumber. A flooded basement will, of course limit the time you may wish you had to be selective. Waiting for that plumbing emergency is not wise but these things happen and sometimes you just have no choice in the matter. Establishing a relationship of sorts with a good plumber before you really need one is a good idea.
How do you find a good Plumber?
You'll have time to shop around for a good plumber if you are planning a project ahead. You will find that many plumbers specifically work on new construction/remodeling jobs or they are geared toward commercial work so you'll need to weed through these to find one that suits your needs. You'll want to find a plumber that does residential repairs and remodeling if you are remodeling your home. You'll have a plumber that is able to trouble-shoot and repair any problem with ease when he is familiar with your system.
seeking the advice of friends and family is the best method of choosing the right plumber for you. A good plumber can also be found through contacting local building contractors and real estate dealers. These people may have several contacts through their work in sales of homes or in construction and remodeling projects. They have the best information as to the availability and reliability of a plumber.

Overall Excellent ***** Excellent installer and plumber. James was recommended to us by the American Bath Factory for a professional bathroom shower install. Due to my diagnosis of Parkinsons, I was unable to do the project myself. James gave us a "very reasonable estimate" to complete the whole bathroom remodel from demo to completion. His work involved demo of the old flooring to the floor joists, adding support, leveling and squaring the new floor and support walls, rerouting and replumbing of waterlines and vents, installing the new shower pan and surrounds, installation of the heavy glass door, complete new dry wall including the ceiling, adding and wiring in a shower light, and installing our new composite flooring. I had originally encountered several design problems, which he readily and knowledgeably corrected. My project which had been on hold for the past 2 years, was completed by James in approximately one week. He is very dependable, knowledgeable, honest and listens to the customers imput on what we wanted done. Oh yeah, he also completely routed all our drains in the house and we are now "trouble free". PS: I did paint the bathroom, so I tell people that "I" finally finished the bathroom....Thanks James, you're great and have our recommendations... Overall Excellent Needed help with a dishwasher that was old not draining properly. He came over on a holiday right on schedule and did a wonderful job. Very friendly and personable, as well as knowledgeable. Also very reasonably priced. This is a man that takes pride in his work, and seems to genuinely enjoy not only doing his job, but doing it well. I have found my plumber for all my future needs. _________________________________________________
Overall Excellent Excellent plumber, I had a cracked drain pipe under my upstairs bathtub. He made a small hole in the drywall opposite the bathroom tub and worked in the small area to change out the cracked piping. Then he did an excellent job on the drywall repair, including texture and painting to where I could not tell that he did the repair. I was so pleased that I had another job for FItzPatrick plumbing, I had my garbage disposal replaced and changed the disposal to the other side of the sink with reworked piping. These jobs were done with excellence, he showed up on time and cleaned up everything. His price was competitive and I would strongly recommend him.
